We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced employment law paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll draft legal documents, prepare briefs, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information organized and easily accessible. Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include the following:
•Prepare initial draft of requests for interrogatories, production of documents, and notice of depositions•Initial drafts of basic legal documents (notice of deposition, notice of filing, motion to extend, etc.) to be filed with the court•Manage litigation case dockets for several large clients•Case and file management via Smokeball (document management software)•Calendar and monitor deadlines•Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes•E-File documents via CM/ECF•Conduct basic legal and factual research•Participation in arbitrations, depositions, mediation, and/or trials as needed•Prepare chronologies and deposition summaries•Prepare document binders for depositions, hearings, and trials•Attorney liaison with clients, court, witnesses, and attorneys•Arrange law office activity such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers•Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses•Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer
Qualifications
The successful Paralegal candidate will have the following:•At least three years of experience as a paralegal handling employment law and/or civil litigation matters•3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal (preferably with federal court experience)•A college degree•Knowledge of Federal Civil Procedure and Court Rules•Experience with drafting discovery requests and responses and litigation documents to be filed with the court•Familiarity with document databases (Relativity, Logikcull, etc.) (preferred)•Experience with Smokeball, Trial Director, Clio (preferred)•Strong attention to detail and data accuracy (essential)•Excellent time management•Superior written and verbal communication skills•An eagerness to learn and grow, with an aptitude for learning new technology•An exceptional work ethic, attitude, and interpersonal skills•Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor's degree preferred•Talented communicator and writer•Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference•At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting•Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills
