The mission of Community Action Programs Cayuga/Seneca (CAP) is to cultivate a community where all people are respectfully supported and empowered to embrace opportunities for learning, growth and economic security.

CAP is seeking an Early Childhood Director. The Early Childhood Director is responsible for assuring all Early Childhood program mandates and standards for excellence are met daily. This position develops the structure, systems, and procedures to facilitate this. In addition to operating responsibility for fiscal, legal, and programmatic aspects of the program, it bears the responsibility of assuring the program is strategically positioned for the future. The EC Director supervises the Head Start (HS) and Early Head Start (EHS) management team, providing leadership, and ensuring compliance in meeting all program standards and regulations for HS/EHS.

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field or a New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential AND one-year full-time teaching experience in a child day care center or early childhood program required. Three to five years' leadership and supervisory experience required. Experience in reading, understanding, and monitoring budgets. Knowledge of and the ability to read, understand and implement local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to program and funding source. Good interpersonal and written communication skills.

This is a full-time, exempt position scheduled 37.5 hrs/wk, with an annual salary of $70,000 - $75,000 per year DOE.
