The AXS group of Bruker Corporation, is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-success driven professional for the role of Field Applications Engineer.Job DescriptionPerform the installation, inspection, repair, maintenance, application training and support of Bruker Electron Microscope products. This position documents all job activities through written reports and is responsible for related service inventory. Candidate must have excellent customer relation skills and the ability to make timely and effective decisions. Travel is 50% or higher across US, EMEA and APAC Regions.Responsibilities

Responsibilities:Installation of analytical instrumentation

Conduct training of customer on basic operation of equipmentTraining and support of customer on usage of software and hardware on-site and remotelyAssist in training of Field Engineers both on site and at factoryAnalyze malfunctioning EM equipment and determine corrective action. Replace faulty components and make necessary adjustments and alignmentsTest and demonstrate proper performance after maintenance and repairsPerform preventive maintenance according to written PM guidelinesPrepare and submit reports documenting all onsite job activities with accuracy and detailSuggest product improvement to improve performance, functionality, and serviceabilityBetween assignments be available, during working hours, for remote support and unplanned service callsFollow-up with customers to ensure service was successful and that now further actions are requiredPromote and maintain Service AgreementsKeep current on new product and product changes to constantly improve knowledge and capabilitiesPerform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor

Qualifications

The Requirements:Demonstrated ability to analyze, diagnose and repair complex equipment accurately and efficientlyAbility to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with both internal and external customersFamiliarity with the operation and use of standard electronic test equipmentFamiliarity with the software upgrading, use and simple networking of personal computersAbility to travel routinely to customer site to perform duties of positionStrong relationship building skills, with a focus on results to meet and exceed goalsEducation / Experience:Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry or related sciencesPhD preferred with 3-years experience with EM operationprevious service experience installing, repairing and maintaining complex electronic systemsWaive experience requirements for new graduates with a science or physics degreeCOMPENSATION/BENEFITS:

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $74,817 and $127,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position.
