In this pivotal position, you will orchestrate and sustain complex systems, ensuring their seamless operation and peak performance. Your responsibilities will include monitoring system resources like CPU and disk usage, and fine-tuning performance to keep operations running smoothly. You'll collaborate closely with network engineers, bringing your expertise to bear on optimizing system reliability and efficiency.
Your role is central to maintaining robust system security. You will handle system security administration tasks such as creating and managing user profiles, applying critical patches, and performing STIG hardening to safeguard our infrastructure. With a focus on automation, you'll use your scripting skills to streamline processes and manage system operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
You will also be deeply involved in problem-solving, providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to diagnose and resolve issues promptly. Your work will extend to setting up administrator accounts, maintaining detailed system documentation, and managing the installation of essential software. Your ability to evaluate and recommend cutting-edge hardware and software will help drive our technological advancements.

relevant experience.System Monitoring:
Expertise in continuously monitoring system resources (CPU, disk usage, response times) to ensure optimal performance and proactively identify potential issues.Security Administration:
Proficiency in handling system security administration tasks, including managing user profiles, applying critical patches, and performing STIG hardening.Troubleshooting:
Strong capability in providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, with the skills to diagnose and resolve system issues promptly to minimize downtime.Performance Tuning:
Experience in adjusting system settings and configurations to maintain peak performance and address performance degradation effectively.Backup and Recovery:
Knowledge in executing routine backup procedures and verifying the integrity of backup files to safeguard against data loss.System Updates and Patching:
Ability to apply system patches and updates, including Linux OS upgrades and STIG hardening, to ensure ongoing security and functionality.Documentation Maintenance:
Skill in updating and maintaining critical system documentation, including SIPs, SAGs, SOPs, and Getting Started guides.Resource Allocation:
Competence in reviewing and adjusting the allocation of system resources and storage to meet operational needs and prevent bottlenecks.User Access Management:
Experience in setting up new administrator accounts, managing permissions, and ensuring user access aligns with roles and responsibilities.Collaboration with Network Engineers:
Capability to coordinate with network engineers to address integration issues and optimize network and system performance.Disaster Recovery Testing:
Proficiency in conducting disaster recovery drills and verifying the effectiveness of backup and recovery procedures.Hardware and Software Evaluation:
Ability to assess and recommend new hardware and software based on technological advancements and operational needs.Policy Development and Review:
Experience in developing and reviewing policies and standards related to computing resource allocation to ensure alignment with organizational goals.Scripting and Automation:
Skill in developing and refining scripts for automating routine tasks and managing system operations efficiently.Integration and Testing:
Experience in participating in the integration and testing of new technologies and applications, including cloud services (EC2s, S3, Elasticache), ElasticSearch, Kafka, Openshift, Docker, Keycloak, and Wildfly.Maintaining Multiple Environment Types:
Ability to manage and maintain various environment types, including physical, virtual, and cloud.Support for Security Audits:
