What youll do
Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the companys growth and profitability. Lead long-term financial planning and forecasting.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and forecasts. Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
Budget Management: Direct the budgeting process, monitor financial performance against budgets, and provide insights to improve financial efficiency.
Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, including market, operational, and credit risks. Implement robust internal controls and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Capital Management: Manage the companys capital structure, including debt and equity financing. Oversee cash flow management and liquidity to meet the companys operational and investment needs.
Mergers and Acquisitions: Lead financial due diligence and integration for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic partnerships.
Stakeholder Relations: Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Financial Reconciliation: Prepare and manage month-end balance sheet account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations.
Journal Entries: Compile and prepare journal entries with thorough supporting documentation.
Accounts Payable Management: Code Accounts Payable invoices, review payable reports to identify items ready for payment, and ensure accurate allocation of incoming client payments.
Payment Processing: Research missing carrier statements, create return payments to customers, and handle other check payments as necessary. Initiate ACH, wire, and check payments as applicable.
Transaction Management: Ensure all support for transactions is accurately processed and filed timely in Applied EPIC. Collaborate with teams to resolve transaction inquiries.
Control Enforcement: Enforce and uphold established controls surrounding all payment processes.
Your Expertise
1. Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
2. Education: A bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. An MBA or CPA is highly preferred.
3. Skills: Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail. Proficiency in financial software and systems. 2-3 years using Applied Epic Preferred.
4. Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive results and influence at all levels of the organization.
5. Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
6. Ethics: High level of integrity and ethical standards.
7. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the insurance brokerage industry and its financial drivers.
