Join the South Dakota State University Enterprise Application team as a Software Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in developing and supporting key applications that drive organizational success. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications, you'll collaborate with project managers, sponsors, and developers to bring projects from concept to completion. Job Responsibilities:Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define project needs and explore technology solutions;Design, develop and maintain software and web applications;Engage in project phases: identify development, testing, deployment and maintenance phases;Conduct post-project evaluations to assess success and identify improvements; andIdentify and fix issues with currently supported applications.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Programming principles, techniques, and languages;Software development lifecycle and version control;Working knowledge of database management and SQL; andSystems integration and capable of integrating disparate systems.Preferred knowledge/education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.Skill & Ability to:

Identify points in workflows where automation is possible and identify where solutions would benefit multiple groups of end-users;Work in both independent and collaborative work environments;Communicate with technical and non-technical users and translate their needs, ideas, or suggestions into logical solutions to problems; andCommunicate directly with peers, managers, and clients while leading development to a completed and successful solution.
