As a communications and events specialist, you'll be pivotal in enhancing employee engagement events and supporting our digital communications strategy. Your collaboration with the corporate communications team will be instrumental in delivering high-value and high-impact events for our employees and community. Your work in executing engaging content across our digital channels will align with our strategic goals and objectives and bring fresh ideas to increase audience engagement.
You will do this by:Planning and executing internal event logistics from start to finish, including town halls, leadership meetings, and other employee education and engagement eventsPlanning and executing external event logistics from start to finish, including Summerfest, National Sales Meetings and community volunteeringOverseeing the day-to-day operations of Briggs & Stratton's digital communications strategy, including managing digital screens, our intranet content, a bi-weekly internal newsletter and LinkedInCreating original content and graphical elements for LinkedIn, email communications and other digital channelsEvaluating all donation and sponsorship requests and coordinating the review and responseManaging the relationship with our promotional vendor, including contract negotiation, on-site presentations, website design and merchandise selection.Overseeing the budget for the corporate communications teamManaging the relationship with our internal cafeteria, including monthly menu and catering designOwning all measurements and metrics for the communications dashboard, including media coveragePartnering with HR to manage our employee recognition programThe above statements are intended only to describe the general nature of the job and should not be construed as an all-inclusive list of position responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experienceAt least five years, with seven or more preferred, of experience in communicationsExperience in event managementStrong understanding of meeting planning and logistics, including hotel room blocks, food and beverage and production schedulesExcellent comprehension of AP StyleExperience compiling analytics reportingBudget management skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Canva, Illustrator, Google Suite, PR Newswire (or similar tools)Experience with Adobe Creative Manager, Monday.com, Salesforce Marketing and/or Meltwater (or similar tools)Additional Knowledge & Skills:
Proven ability to think outside-of-the-box to introduce new and exciting employee engagement and community involvement opportunitiesStrong organizational skillsDetail-oriented, able to work with minimum supervision, flexible and have the ability to prioritize projects as they ariseDemonstrated ability to manage and maintain confidentialityFluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or locationTravel Required:
