NoPosition Purpose:The Claims Adjuster will support the administration of Dartmouth's insurance program through managing workers' compensation claims inclusive of lost time/indemnity; evaluate and resolve claims in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with statues, regulations and policy provisions.

Description:Workers Compensation Claims Management
Demonstrate technical proficiency through timely, consistent execution of claims management best practicesReview all workers' compensation claims from initial report to resolution; ensuring all necessary information is collected for accurate processing in proprietary claims management systemRequest all wage and medical information when applicableInvestigates and adjusts claims in a timely manner, as well as directs outside defence counsel, independent adjusters, experts, and other vendors in the claim-handling processes consistent with industry best practicesDetermine compensability and issue prompt payment or denial within the statutory requirementsRecommends and sets reserves to ensure the reserves represent the probable ultimate payout based on documented file developmentsComplete and file all applicable state mandated forms.Communicate frequently with injured workers to maintain appropriate case managementCollaboratively work with Dartmouth departmental supervisors to execute return to work strategiesRoutinely interacts with primary and excess insurance carriersEstablish and implement pro-active action plans to facilitate case resolution inclusive of negotiating settlements within granted authorityReview and process medical/vendor bills and issue timely payments consistent with payment protocolsAttend hearing and appeals as requiredDetermine potential subrogation and second injury fund recoveryKeep abreast of jurisdictional requirements, applicable case law and insurance best practicesContribute and provide data for monthly Safety MeetingsPercentage Of Time:
