The liaison is responsible for providing comprehensive guidance for community college advisors and students to ensure a smooth transition for students to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR). The CC Liaison position will report to the Associate Registrar for Transfer Student Services. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.Qualifications:
Required Experience and/or ExperienceBaccalaureate Degree;Two years experience in a college setting;Evidence of strong oral, listening, and written communication skills;Evidence of skills and ability to utilize technology;Experience working in a team environment;Preferred Education and/or ExperienceExperience in academic advising and/or transfer knowledge;BANNER/Workday or ERP equivalent experience preferred;Job Duties and Responsibilities:Establish strong and collaborative partnerships with central Arkansas CC advisors and administrators (UA-PTC, NPC, ASUB, SEARK, UACCM, ASU Three Rivers (Formerly COTO) );Establish strong and collaborative partnerships with UA Little Rock Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, College Advising centers, and Records and Registration;Lead CC student workshops to help students learn about the transfer process and resources available;Acquire and maintain expert knowledge of UA Little Rock admission standards, advising procedures, and degree requirements;Assist with 2+2 transfer agreement maintenance;Coordinate with transfer recruiter and admissions event coordinator for college visits and transfer recruitment events;Be knowledgeable about scholarship opportunities for transfer students;Be familiar with institutional requirements and deadlines;Be trained on UALR Financial Aid procedures to provide preliminary guidance;Collaborate with campus partners to assist with the onboarding process;Assist OTSS focus processing efforts with better data on who will be attending;Instill within students the ability to become proficient and self-sufficient by educating and assisting them with UA Little Rock Systems (BOSS, Blackboard, DegreeWorks, etc.);Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to provide excellent customer service consistently and professionally to all internal and external constituents;Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends, and holidays and working on theUALRmain campus;Knowledge of UALR's undergraduate admissions standards and academic advising procedures;Ability to work under deadlines in a diverse and dynamic/changing environment;Ability to work collaboratively and independently with common goals as a part of a team;Ability to learn quickly UALR's student information system and willingness to learn new university technologies;Ability to work with diverse students in a non-judgmental manner;Knowledge of computers and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access;Effective interpersonal communication, writing, and organizational ability;Must possess a valid driver's license with the ability to drive a motor vehicle.
