Position Summary The Sourcing Specialist's primary roleis to promote and implement tactical sourcing activities, while proactively managing assigned commodity and supply base. This position will construct RFx and are responsible for negotiating products or services from strategic suppliers. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining supplier relationships to seek maximum value for the Company including total cost of ownership. This position will report to the Sourcing Supervisor and is downtown Houston, TX.Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience. Essential Job Functions
Develop RFx, obtain and analyze quotations, lead sourcing efforts, and negotiate total cost elements for assigned commodity and with key suppliers, in line with Operation strategies.Recommend opportunities to reduce total cost through new sources, substitutions, improved systems or methods, and other supply chain management techniques such as target costing, negotiations, etc.Analyze current market trends and track appropriate indices for key components of the Company's business to anticipate price fluctuations and potential market shortagesReview contracts and master service agreements for exceptions, negotiate changes, and assist with legal reviewsReview and interpret complex requirements, construct compliant and competitive proposal inputs, directly negotiate and manage large and complex Master Service Agreements and pricing contractsIdentify and manage new product development opportunities and integrate new business units into the sourcing efforts.Evaluate alternative proposals and select the most effective approach to meet objectivesIdentify and select suppliers that can provide the required quality, flexibility, reliability, and pricing for select services and commoditiesSupplier Relationship Management - participate in regular supplier audits and monitor key performance indicators (KPI's) through, but not limited to, quarterly and annual business reviewsMaintain and monitor the Approved Supplier List (ASL) with input and feedback from OperationPrepare periodical reports as agreed with managementImmediate reporting of non-conformances with follow up until resolvedEmployees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, according to the needs of the location or CompanyThis job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the position.Incumbents will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and duties outside of their normal responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor. Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related fieldExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written)Strong interpersonal and analytical skills and the ability to work with internal and external contactsProficient user of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointStrong attention to detailStrong organization and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work independently with changing prioritiesAbility to think strategically with excellent quantitative skillsStrong initiative and proven project management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing companyAbility to meet deadlinesPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions: Mustpossess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax; maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; vision to readprinted materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephoneThe physical demands described here are representative of those that mustbe met by an employee to successfullyperform the essential functions of this job.
