Position Summary Chord Energy is seeking an experienced Joint Interest Billing ("JIB") and Accounts Receivable ("AR") accountant to join the JIB/AR group to support the Operations Accounting Department. This position reports to the Accounting Supervisor and is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays.Level and salary commensuratewith experience. Essential Job Functions
Assist with monthly Joint Interest Billing processProcess monthly working interest changes and rebillsReview and resolve working interest owner aging receivable balancesApply cash received to outstanding accounts receivablesAddress owner inquiries related to receivable balancesPrepare and record journal entries for monthly closePrepare account reconciliationsIdentify and assist in implementation of process improvement projectsTrain and mentor less experienced team membersHandle and/or assist with special projects or other accountingrelated assignments as requestedOther duties include but not limited to:
Maintain SOX controls, policies and procedures related to specific job dutiesCoordinate and lead external audit/internal audit/legal/business development requests, as needed

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related degree8 years of oil and gas accounting experienceStrong analytical skills and ability to create and/or improve processesStrong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skillsAbility to work well in a team environmentDevelop a relationship and communicate effectively with various areas of the organizationUnderstanding of US GAAP and experience in GAAP accounting researchStrong Excel skillsStrong time management & multi-tasking skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracyFlexible with the demands of a growing companyAbility to meet deadlinesPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephoneThe physical demands described here are representative of those that mustbe met by an employee to successfullyperform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
