DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Tetra Tech is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to fill a part time temporary position. This individual works under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager and is a key member of the Human Resources Department. The person in this role will have administrative duties and will apply their business knowledge and human resources expertise related to employee relations, unemployment, policies and procedures, onboarding, and performance management. At Tetra Tech you will work with high-performing teams who are passionate about using their expertise to find solutions to complex problems in water, environment, remediation, resource management, energy, and sustainability.
Responsibilities: * Works closely with the HR Team members to support all aspects of the HR function for an 800-employee operating unit. * Ensures that the hiring processes comply with company guidelines and policies as well as state and federal regulations. * Assists with ensuring employment related activities related to hiring, personnel status changes, and terminations are properly documented, entered, and maintained. * Assist in administering benefits and compensation. * Keep abreast of changes in employment law. * Prepares all end of employment documents for exiting employees and reviews documents / procedures with departing staff. * Assist in coordination with corporate of benefits administration. Identifies and works with Corporate to correct benefit errors and issues. * Coordinates with Unemployment Claims third party administrator by completing requests for information regarding Unemployment Compensation Claims. * Assists with addressing employee inquiries regarding benefits, 401(k) Retirement Plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, compensation, personnel policies, and any other HR related issues. * Coordinates and administers the E-Verify program. * Coordinates yearly renewal and administration of labor law posters for all EGS offices. * Conduct I9 audit for EGS and maintain I9 files according to DHS requirements. * Protects organization and employees by keeping information confidential.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Very strong organizational and skills and high attention to detail. * Understand and have used an HRIS to generate reports and implement staff changes. * Strong interpersonal communication skills. * High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion, and integrity. * Must be comfortable working in a fast paced and sometimes intense work environment. * Must possess proactive, positive problem-solving skills and be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative team player. * Understanding of and skill in applying the principles, practices, and procedures of human resource administration in the areas of recruitment and employment, compensation, and employee relations. * Knowledge of and skill in interpreting and applying state and federal statues and applicable rules and regulations related to the management of human resources. * Ability to remain objective in all situations and always use discretion. * The ability to exercise poise, tactfulness, and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential situations. * Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and/or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification preferred but not required. * Must be able to search for pertinent facts and data, analyze and evaluate information, and form accurate conclusions.
Education & Experience: * BA/BS in Human Resources, or r lated degree, with background in business-related field, degree preferred but not required. * Minimum 15 years of HR generalist experience required. * Experience using Talent Management Systems, experience with Taleo preferred but not required. * Experience using HRIS preferred, but not required.

Must be able to write clear and concise documents including email and presentations. Must be able to speak effectively with coworkers at all levels in the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Other Skills: Experience with various software including but not limited to Adobe; Microsoft: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access.
