Position Summary
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for optimizing job costs while providing oversight for all purchasing and material management for the division.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for monthly review of closed homes for accurate job costingResponsible for accurate data integrity in Integrated Homebuilding Management System (IHMS)Responsible to follow company standards for entering and maintaining all job costsResponsible for trade partner negotiations, onboarding, and acquisitionOverall responsibility for job cost assignment using IHMSResponsible for material product selection and takeoff quantity assignment in IHMSResponsible for Internet Toolkit (ITK) setup for division users and trade partnersResponsible for the permitting process and tracking of permits in progressAdditional duties as requiredRequirements
Established vendor relationships throughout the NWFL Panhandle areaMinimum of 2 years Purchasing experience in Residential Construction2 or more years of field and people management experienceExperience in a customer service positionAbility to review construction job costs and make assessments to improve material quantityAbility to evaluate alternative methods of construction in terms of cost efficiencyExperience in negotiating construction contractsCandidate must possess the ability to read, understand, and explain construction blueprints and floorplans in order to identify and resolve inconsistencies in construction plans and specificationUnderstands the basic materials and methods used by trade partners to assure compliance with company construction standardProven ability to conduct a house takeoff, assign material quantities, and manage all job cost detailsExcellent organization skills and possesses the ability to multi-taskSelf-motivated and the ability to solve problems effectivelyBe professional in dress, manners, and conductKnowledge of standard computer applications including Microsoft ExcelPhysical Demands
Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently and frequently moving small objectsFrequently sitting for long periods of timeWalking or standing occasionallyThis position works mostly indoors going outdoors may be frequently requiredMust have manual use of hands and vision to use computer constantlyEmployee Benefits:
