Position Summary

The Senior Purchasing Agent coordinates operations of the Purchasing Department under the direction of the Purchasing Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

Reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and indirectly to Division Operations Manager.Responsible for accurate data integrity of our internal systemsEnsure trade partner compliance with company construction standards.Responsible for job cost assignmentsResponsible for takeoff quantity assignmentResponsible for assisting Purchasing Manager in trade partner recruitment and negotiationResponsible for overseeing trade partner contracts and filesAdditional duties as required.Requirements

Minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience of purchasing background with a high preference given for knowledge of production home building.Ability to understand mathematical equations.Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel.Ability to read, understand, and explain construction blueprints and floorplans.Working knowledge of the basic materials and methods used by trade partners.Proven ability to conduct a house takeoff and assign material quantities.Excellent organizational skills and possesses the ability to multi-task.Self-motivated and the ability to solve problems effectively.Be professional in dress, manners, and conduct.Knowledge of standard computer applications.Preferred Qualifications

Solid understanding of job cost details to build a home.Ability to read, interpret, and resolve inconsistencies and problems in construction plans and specifications.Ability to review construction job costs and make assessments to improve material quantity.Ability to evaluate alternative methods of construction in terms of cost efficiency.Physical Demands
