Overview

As a Process Engineer specializing in Press operations, you will be essential to planning, managing, and improving production methods within our metal stamping press department. Youll actively participate in cross-functional teams, representing manufacturing engineering at every phase of design and development. Collaboration across engineering, production, research, marketing, and after-sales teams will be key to your role.

Responsibilities

Analyze equipment, processes, operations, and assembly methods to identify improvements in time, quality, and efficiency.

Drive process development and improvement initiatives within the stamping department.

Conduct problem-solving, program management, and troubleshooting for stamping processes.

Specify, design, and develop tooling, fixtures, work aides, and stamping equipment.

Investigate and resolve tooling, processing, assembly, and sequencing issues.

Initiate corrective actions, including modifying plant tooling and machine programming.

Contribute to problem-resolution teams, ensuring smooth and efficient production.

Create equipment specifications and evaluate vendor proposals for new production equipment and manufacturing lines.

Assist in the design, installation, and debugging of tooling and capital equipment.

Provide daily support for troubleshooting issues in assembly and press shop operations.

Reduce costs related to scrap, rework, and cycle time while optimizing manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge

Minimum 2 years in a metal stamping shop.

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Pro E, SolidWorks).

Strong understanding of design applications for stamping.

Familiarity with engineering principles, processes, and equipment within a metal stamping environment.

Preferred: Die design or Journeyman Tool and Die experience.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience, OR 5 years of equivalent experience with demonstrated expertise.

Skills and Abilities

Strong application of engineering principles and design applications.

Effective communication skills, with a drive for continuous improvement and world-class performance standards.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, bend, and perform minimal lifting throughout shifts. Manual dexterity required.
