Senior Director of Digital Product Security
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As Bayer Crop Science's digital farming arm, we advance regenerative agriculture and technology breakthroughs using the latest agronomic science, data science, engineering, and real-world farming experience. With groundbreaking technologies like Climate FieldView and our ForGround regenerative agriculture platform, our team is a part of some of the most important advancements in ag.
We are seeking a Senior Director of Digital Product Security to oversee the Product Security and Trust strategy for Digital Farming subsidiary initiatives across various agricultural technologies. The candidate will be accountable for guiding the product security and trust strategy within the division, including the implementation, upkeep, and ongoing enhancement of a secure software delivery lifecycle and associated security services. This role involves formulating and articulating pertinent, business-specific strategic and operational goals and metrics. Additionally, the individual will support diverse new business models for our products and act as a key advisor in shaping security measures to align with Bayer's changing business needs.
Lead, manage, and develop Bayer Digital Farming Solutions Product Security and Trust function which is responsible for design, development, delivery, and maintenance of cybersecurity requirements and guidance for digital commercial products
Leads development of multiple product security engineers and cross-functional efforts, and be accountable for execution of business unit comprehensive security strategy
Accountable for managing department budget, conducting financial forecasting, and overseeing resource allocations
Builds relationships and partners with functional areas across the business to raise awareness and support for cybersecurity
Lead and manage division product security organization, to include planning tied to business needs around multiple product lines and business specific requirements
Provides overall accountability for resource/project management for department, including matching people to projects, obtaining needed resources, etc.
Coordinates remediation of non-compliant items to meet applicable compliance standards
Partners with development team and product engineering leadership team to proactively communicate Product Security requirements and promoting control frameworks to ensure functional goals are met
Drive a consistent approach towards digital agriculture standards regarding Cyber-Security and Assurance requirements for all product groups creating comprehensive goals and metrics
Drive external engagement with tied industry standards bodies, working groups, regulators, and customers to showcase Bayer's capabilities and passion for secure digital products
Extend the Security Champions Community and efforts into tailored Digital Farming Solutions relevancy
Partner with relevant CSRM capabilities to deliver and enhance services across the DFS technology and service portfolio achieving higher levels of integration and embedded support
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required qualifications
15+ years' experience with product development and/or digital product security with 5+ years' experience with a dedicated focus on digital products (SaaS, Hardware, Software) and cyber security
4+ years’ experience leading and managing teams with demonstrated expertise in team building, people development, and a proven track record of fostering collaborative environments and enhancing team performance
Experience and comfort with AGILE Program Management and supporting software organizations
Demonstrated experience identifying, measuring, and reporting performance metrics in a form that is easily consumable by senior Leadership
Excellent communication skills with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders
Demonstrated experience tracking and responding to regulatory changes
Preferred qualifications
Demonstrated experience and practical knowledge around various cyber standards - HIPAA, ISO 27001/2, NIST Cyber Framework
Experience working in the digital agriculture or agronomic space for product security
Experience developing complex strategic initiatives and tactically delivering results
WHAT WE OFFER
Base salary estimated range between $165,528 – $280,000 annually, depending on the hiring location. You may also be offered bonuses, RSUs cash equivalent, or commission.
