The Downstream Process Development group in Bioprocess R&D is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist contractor to support the development and optimization of recovery and purification processes for recombinant proteins and biological macromolecules for early- and late-phase clinical trials. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to designing and executing bench-scale development and characterization studies with proper documentation, analyzing and interpreting results, and authoring technical reports. This position interacts and collaborates with fellow scientists within Downstream PD and across Pharmaceutical Sciences.Responsibilities:Design and execute bench-scale chromatography and filtration development and characterization studiesSupport process development for new molecules from platform process fit assessment through IND submissionsTransfer manufacturing processes to internal and/or external manufacturing facilitiesAuthor technical reports and make presentations to scientists and managementWork with fellow Bioprocess, Analytical and Pharmaceutical R&D scientists across multiple sitesQualifications:Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2-4+ years of relevant experience OR;Master's degree with a minimum of 0-2+ years of relevant experienceRelevant experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting, preferably with preparative or analytical chromatography, filtration, and other techniquesExperience using AKTA and Unicorn software preferredExperience with experimental design and interpretation of resultsRate/Location:$44 - $54 per hourThis is a fully onsite role in Bothell, WA
