Job Summary:The Downstream Process Development group in Bioprocess R&D is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist contractor to support development and optimization of recovery and purification processes for recombinant proteins and biological macromolecules for early- and late-phase clinical trials. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to designing and executing bench-scale development and characterization studies with proper documentation, analyzing and interpreting results, and authoring technical reports. This position interacts and collaborates with fellow scientists within Downstream PD and across Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Responsibilities:
Design and execute bench-scale chromatography and filtration development and characterization studiesSupport process development for new molecules from platform process fit assessment through IND submissionsTransfer manufacturing processes to internal and/or external manufacturing facilitiesAuthor technical reports and make presentations to scientists and management
Organizational Relationships:Work with fellow Bioprocess, Analytical and Pharmaceutical R&D scientists across multiple sites
Qualifications:Education & Experience:- Minimum Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience
Technical Skills Requirements:- Relevant experience in laboratory or manufacturing setting, preferably with preparative or analytical chromatography, filtration and other techniques- Experience using AKTA and Unicorn software- Experience with experimental design and interpretation of results
Physical Position Requirements:- Work is primarily performed at the laboratory bench and at an office desk using a computer.
Required Skills:- Relevant experience in laboratory or manufacturing setting- Experimental design and interpretation of results
Nice-to-Have:- AKTA FPLC and Unicorn software
Skills:
GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
