Responsibilities:Passionately shares the Gospel with children and their familiesPlans collaboratively with the pastoral and administrative staff to carry out the mission of the ChurchIntegral member of the Faith Formation Staff, primarily responsible for children from kindergarten through fifth gradeLead staff member for the Sacramental Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion, plans on-site retreats for bothPlans, develops, and executes the Family Program (twice a month)
Engages families in formation as a family - strengthening the Domestic ChurchPlans pullouts for children in the following groupings: K5-1st Grade; 2nd Grade; 3rd - 5th GradePlans adult content to help parents connect more deeply in their own relationship with God
Provides support for catechists by offering trainings and opportunities to pray togetherEstablishes a team approach between catechists, staff, and parentsOffers opportunities for families to serve others in both the parish and the larger communityCollaborates with the Pastor, Director of Christian Formation, and the PrincipalServes as the staff liaison for Children's Liturgy of the WordFosters student participation in evangelization, formation, and stewardshipEffectively manages attendance, behavior concerns, and communicates with parentsAssures supervision of minors while on the parish/school grounds for formationImplements the policies of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee for evangelization, catechesis, and stewardshipAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities:Serves as a professional member of the pastoral staffAttends all pertinent meetings to ensure the mission of the Church is carried outMaintains accurate records for programming and for Safeguarding all of God’s ChildrenVisibly present and engaged at parish eventsAttends respective opportunities for faith formation and professional developmentOther duties as assignedADA Physical Requirements:Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hearFrequently expected to sit for extended periods; use hands; reach with hands and armsClose vision required for paperwork and computerAble to utilize a computer keyboard, monitor, and telephoneThis role functions in an office environment and uses standard office equipmentAbility to lift 20 poundsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Active, Confirmed Catholic able to participate fully in the Sacramental Life of the ChurchBachelor’s degree in (1) Theology/Religious Education/Catechetics, or (2) an Education related field AND/OR a (3) certificate in Catholic catechesis or theology is desired OR equivalent volunteer experienceExperience with children, youth, and adults in formation or training is desiredTeachable and able to adjust to creating a culture of discipleship in the parishProfessional, working attitude and able to collaborate with othersAbility to maintain confidentialityAble to organize, delegate, and encourage othersStrong verbal and written skills; able to communicate effectivelyBasic computer skills: Microsoft Office and Google SuiteCompensation
