Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, Speed Analytics and Science
Amazon is seeking a candidate who is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insight that impacts business decisions to improve customer experience in North American transportation network. Amazon transportation encompasses all of the operations that deliver shipments from our fulfillment centers and third party locations to customers worldwide. Because we strive for faster delivery to customers, a successful candidate must be passionate about identifying and building solutions that will help drive a more efficient network and better customer experience. This role offers the opportunity to influence and drive a growing business area. BIE will collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders including product managers, program managers, data scientists, software development engineers, and other partner teams to analyze large data sets, prove and disprove hypotheses, automate existing solutions, and build self-service dashboards and reports.
Key job responsibilities:Develop and lead design and execution of reporting solutions for Speed metrics.Work with product managers, data engineers, and software engineers to define reporting needs.Build self-service tools and dashboards that provide aggregated metrics and ways to pull granular data for defect verification, customer communication, and deep dives.Perform deep-dives and data analysis, providing recommendations on new metrics or business decisions.Mentor teammates, provide input in team and organizational level strategic planning, and lead cross-organizational discussions.
Minimum Qualifications:10+ years of professional or military experience.5+ years of SQL experience.Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets.Experience with the theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results.Experience with AWS technologies.Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL skills.Experience with the theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining.Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs.Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
