POSITION : Senior Application Developer – Azure Cloud
LOCATION : Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
SCOPE : Serves as a Full-Stack Cloud Application Developer on a major IT support contract for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC)
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
No Degree or Degree in non-directly related field w/appropriate Certifications >/= 10 years
Associate’s degree in directly related field >/= 7 years
Bachelors in directly related field >/= 5 years
Masters in directly related field = 3 years
Certifications : Must possess industry certification to meet DOD Directive 8570.01 certification requirements for IAT Level II, such as CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Work with customers and requirements analysts to understand and gather application requirements.
Design and develop Cloud-Native Applications in Microsoft Azure that are optimized for cloud environments, leveraging cloud-native technologies such as serverless computing, and containerization.
Create scalable and maintainable code, including but not limited to C#, Python, Java and JavaScript.
Work with the cloud engineering team to implement continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to streamline development and operations processes.
Implement security best practices and compliance standards to protect applications and data in the cloud, including Static Code Analysis (SCA) and mitigation of findings.
Monitor application performance, availability, and scalability metrics using Azure cloud monitoring and logging services.
Troubleshoot issues, optimize resource utilization, and implement scalability strategies such as auto-scaling and load balancing.
Develop complex applications using SharePoint Online and the Microsoft Power Platform including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
Participate in Agile development processes, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Expert-level experience developing applications and services that run on cloud computing platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
Experience working with APIs, SDKs, and development tools in Azure to integrate cloud services into applications, such as storage, databases, compute, and networking services.
Experience collaborating with system administrators, DevOps engineers, and data engineers, to ensure that applications are optimized for performance, security, and scalability in a cloud environment.
Technical expert on design and architecture of software modules and applications by applying principles of software design through patterns and secure coding.
Experience with end state configuration via puppet or chef, and software deployment strategies via docker or Kubernetes.
Experience as a DevOps (Development and Operations) Engineer.
SECURITY CLEARANCE : DoD Secret Clearance
SALARY (Based on level of experience and expertise): $120K – $160K
