Job Purpose:

BTIG seeks a dynamic Human Resource professional to lead its U.S. HR department and coordinate the firm's Global HR Team. This is a Director level position, and the successful candidate will have experience working in the financial services industry, preferably in a mid-size, growing, global organization.

At BTIG, each member of the HR team needs to be exceptional in their communication and problem-solving skills, presenting a polished and professional demeanor as a norm. The candidate will be someone who can help shape and drive the firm's culture, exercise discretion and leadership in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and work across the organization. This is a hands-on role requiring a well-developed business sense and a commitment to excellent service.

Job requirements include ongoing creation and the evolution of processes and procedures, managing employee relations, optimizing practices to a "best practice" standard, and driving employee engagement. The ideal candidate is someone who is capable of building a team, understands the impact that HR can have within the organization, conveys a strong presence and will earn the respect of their colleagues. Over time, the person will be expected to be able to advise management on all HR related matters in the capacity of 'trusted advisor' with deep and relevant knowledge of HR disciplines. From the outset the professional will be willing to roll up their sleeves and take a hands-on approach. As a leader the person in the role must be equally comfortable directly attaining, and also supporting others, to achieve objectives and demonstrate success.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Continually develop and advance the firm's approach to people, improving the employee experience

Communicate regularly, both formally and informally, with global affiliates with the goal of creating a consistent culture across regions

Must have the highest level of professional integrity

Bring a vision of an effective and impactful HR team to the role

Day-to-day responsibility for the U.S. based HR team; willing to train and retrain them to meet business needs

Insists on high quality work, details and "getting it right the first time";

Comfortable working with sense of urgency

Enhancing the HR department's use of technology

Seeks to improve and evolve the use of data and the quality of data for HR purposes

Maintains in-depth knowledge of HR legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Undertake significant collaboration with the legal team and executive team

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the regulatory framework of a financial services firm in the US

Work closely with managers and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, drive firm culture, and increase productivity and retention

Engaging with employees at all levels of the firm for training, professional development, mentoring, conflict resolution and overall employee relations

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience across a variety of HR disciplines

Must have experience supporting a headcount minimum of 500+

Experience working in a complex organization with multiple stakeholders

Ability to establish a high level of trust and credibility within the organization

Proven track record and leadership experience

Comfortable with ambiguity

Ability to work autonomously

Flexible; ability to adapt to changing priorities and multiple tasks

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface comfortably at all levels both internally and externally (encompasses verbal, written, listening)

Strong talent manager / team builder

Visionary, entrepreneurial leader but also hands-on, collaborative and practical

Highly collaborative and team-oriented

High level of proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applicable software

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong supervisory and leadership skills

Compensation:

BTIG offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Salary range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, years of applicable experience, skills, qualifications, licensure and certifications, and other business and organization needs.

The current estimated base salary range for this role is $250,000 - $275,000 per year. Please note that certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus or overtime.
