Job Overview:The HR Manager will lead the Human Resources department in a mixed workforce environment of 50+ employees, including both union and non-union staff. This role will be responsible for strategic HR planning, talent acquisition, compliance, and fostering positive relationships across the workforce. The HR Manager will play a crucial role in supporting Elite Mechanical’s core values and implementing HR policies that align with the company’s goals and employee needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Retention:
Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent for non-union roles, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth needs.
Oversee the entire hiring process, from job posting to onboarding, to ensure a seamless candidate experience and successful integration into the company culture.
Collaborate with department heads to identify workforce needs and develop job descriptions that reflect the requirements and expectations of each role.
Coordinate training for both field and office staff to facilitate skillsets that are beneficial to our employees and our company.
Assist with creating/maintaining a work environment to ensure a high level of retention.
Compliance and Policy Management:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws, union agreements, and HR policies for non-union employees.
Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring effective communication across the organization.
Oversee employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent practices for both union and non-union employees.
Labor Relations:
Serve as the primary HR contact for union and non-union matters, managing compliance with labor agreements while maintaining open communication.
Handle grievances, negotiations, and discussions with union representatives and non-union employees to ensure fair and consistent employee relations.
Benefits Administration:
Manage benefits programs for non-union employees, ensuring they meet legal requirements and align with employee needs.
Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve issues and ensure seamless administration.
Workplace Culture and Employee Engagement:
Promote and reinforce company culture and core values through HR initiatives that resonate with both union and non-union employees.
Implement programs to enhance employee well-being, satisfaction, and productivity, ensuring alignment with both labor agreements and company policies.
HR Strategy and Operations:
Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s mission, vision, and core values.
Manage performance evaluations, merit increase processes, and employee development programs for all employees, ensuring equitable opportunities for growth and advancement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, with at least 2 years in a unionized environment.
Strong background in talent acquisition, labor relations, and HR compliance.
Proven track record in HR strategy, employee relations, policy development, and compliance.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across both union and non-union environments.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other HR-related software.
Preferred Attributes:
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR) is a plus.
Experience in the HVAC or construction industry is highly desirable.

Up to $110,000 per year
