You will work closely with the procurement team in negotiating contracts to support all aspects of the business. You will support our partnerships team as they negotiate and navigate partnerships key to our business. Finally, as a fast growing start-up ourselves a broad range of legal issues arise from day to day and our team jumps in when needed and where they have relevant knowledge, experience or a desire to learn and solve problems. Experience in fintech is welcomed, as is a passion for mastering something new.As part of the journey, we would expect you to:Work closely with cross-functional partners across the companyDeeply understand our product and our customers, and how our commercial legal work serves bothHelp structure, negotiate, and manage a broad variety of commercial contractsHelp negotiate and manage business critical partnershipsNavigate state and federal regulatory frameworksThink proactively about complianceExercise judgment in evaluating legal risks associated with contracts and other activitiesHelp take care of all the day-to-day legal requests that come to the teamSome things that might make you successful in a role like this:~2-3 years of legal experience, including either law firm or in-house experienceJD and bar admissionThe ability to communicate clearlyA sense of humor and appreciation of craftsmanshipEmpathySome experience in the world of fintech or banking, or a strong willingness and passion to learn about those areasThe total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits.Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $168,500 - 175,000 USDUS employees outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $151,700 - 157,500 USDWe use Covey as part of our hiring and / or promotional process for jobs in NYC and certain features may qualify it as an AEDT.
