Our company’s leading wine brands include Stella Rosa, San Antonio, San Simeon, Maddalena, and Highlands 41.The Category Analyst, part of the Business Insights Group and reporting to the Director of Insights, will provide essential data analysis and reporting support to multiple departments, including the National Sales Team, National Chain Team, and Marketing Team. This role will concentrate on preparing category reviews, tracking market trends, and ensuring data accuracy to inform business decisions and uncover compelling selling stories.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Current duties may be changed if the job requires and/or additional duties may be assigned if necessary.Data Preparation & ReportingPrepare data-driven presentations for the sales teams, utilizing multiple data sources and tools, in advance to support monthly sales priorities.Generate simple, ad-hoc reports for internal teams with quick turnaround times to meet urgent needs.Regularly update key presentations and reports with the latest market data to ensure relevance and credibility for internal use.Category & Market AnalysisConduct quarterly business reviews for the National Sales Team using prebuilt Nielsen reports to highlight market wins, identify opportunities, and understand the competitive landscape.Track and report on new product launches, providing monthly insights to monitor performance, support sales strategy, and identify challenges.Analyze monthly performance data for key brands, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to leadership for decision-making.Competitive & Performance TrackingMonitor competitor brands using market data, providing insights on key threats, opportunities, and competitive movements to inform adjustments in sales and marketing strategies.Track the performance of key brands and categories, identifying factors influencing sales trends, pricing, and distribution.Participate in team projects including the Yearly Portfolio Review, Opportunity Gap Analysis, and Consumer Profile Analysis.Collaborate with the Marketing Team to provide data insights for sell sheets and marketing materials, ensuring accuracy and relevance.Support the National Chain Team as needed by gathering data and insights for new item meetings and programming meetings, assisting in the preparation process.Database MaintenanceMaintain the product database by submitting new item information and resolving coding errors with data providers such as Nielsen and Circana to ensure accurate reporting of sales volumes.Manage user access to the database, including setting up new users and terminating access when needed. Coordinate with data providers to resolve any login or access issues promptly.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.Minimum 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, category management, or a similar role in CPG or syndicated research industry.Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Nielsen IQ, Circana, VIP and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).Solid understanding of syndicated data measurements.Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection, analysis and interpretation.Ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently in a fast-paced environment.Clear and concise written communication skills.Comfortable working with a high degree of ambiguity.Genuine curiosity and strong desire to continuously learn and grow.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the wine, beer, spirits industry.Experience working with retail chains.Fundamental knowledge of wine and spirits products.Familiarity with fact-based selling.Pay Range$75,000 - $100,000 USDAt Riboli Family Wines, we are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer and we are committed to an environment of mutual respect, diversity, and inclusion.
