The ideal candidate will partner with internal clients, the HRBP team, and broader HR team in the creation, implementation, and ongoing execution of key talent programs, processes, and activities including feedback, performance management, career development, succession planning, and inclusion and diversity across our Investment Banking team. They will also partner with the Senior HRBP team on strategy development, thought leadership, and client management. The Human Resources Business Partner will provide internal Human Resources consulting to client departments to facilitate conflict resolution, employee relations matters, and support successful change management. They will maintain a close working relationship with managers to ensure employee capabilities are aligned with departmental goals/requirements and mentor/coach the managers on managerial effectiveness. They will counsel employees on career progression and development. The successful candidate will be a relationship builder and people motivator.Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:Partners with internal clients, the HRBP team, and broader HR team in the creation, implementation, and ongoing execution of key talent programs and activities including onboarding/offboarding, feedback and performance management, career development, succession planning, and inclusion and diversity strategies.Provides internal HR consulting to departments to facilitate conflict resolution, employee relations matters, and change management.Maintains close working relationships with managers to ensure employee capabilities are aligned with departmental goals/requirements. Mentors and coaches managers on managerial effectiveness.Manages key HR processes including, but not limited to, onboarding/offboarding, immigration, expat assignments, international and domestic relocations.Compiles and reports on key HR metrics on a regular and ad hoc basis. Works to ensure data accuracy and integrity in HR systems.Supports business colleagues with routine HR questions, needs, and inquiries.Ensures compliance with all HR-related federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Assists with policy development and updates, conducting research of best practices in policies, programs, and competitive intelligence, as needed.Partners effectively with International HR Business Partner team to ensure coordination and best practice sharing across client groups.Participates in advancing the overall William Blair Human Resources team effectiveness, team engagement, and development.Qualifications:4+ years of experience in Human Resources, primarily in an HR generalist/business partner capacity, with 3+ being in financial services or professional services strongly preferred.Current knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization.Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving skills, and balanced approach to decision making.Strong influence skills, including outcome and expectations management.Excellent verbal and written skills; strong diplomacy skills.Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects, priorities, and meet deadlines.Ability to deliver clear, effective verbal and written communication and take responsibility for understanding others.Excellent interpersonal skills and service orientation.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.William Blair is an equal opportunity employer.
