Overview:The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) is a public health preparedness and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services. ASPR was created under the Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness Act in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to lead the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters. The Office of Preparedness - Office of Security oversees all matters related to security, intelligence, and information management at ASPR. This position is hybrid with a prescribed number of days on site and remote.Responsibilities:Process all On-boarding Security Packages consisting of the following:Federal (Full-time employee, FTE) positions and InternsPublic Health Service Commissioned Corps (PHS CC)Special Government Employee (SGE)Federal position appointments under T42 appointmentPositions filled through Intergovernmental Personnel Agreements (IPA)Conduct quality review of information entered on forms HHS-828, OF-306, and OF-8 PD, ensuring the resume includes addresses for educational institutions and employers as well as e-mail addressesVerify the information provided for position sensitivity Tier designation (FTE) matches formsManage on-boarding security packet to the Program Support Center (PSC) for security investigation processing and HHS ID badge enrollment/issuance actions.Update the Security tracking spreadsheet with the applicant’s information, and post status update changes regularly.Monitor PSC email traffic for updates on applicant’s onboarding security investigation status and HHS ID badge notices and appointments.Perform security lead functions as required between PSC, Security Team, program offices (sponsors/CORs/managers) and new employee (as appropriate).Skills Required:Excellent attention to detailAbility to process actions in a timely mannerDemonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capabilityHighly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independentlyProven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and responseQualifications:Required Education:

Bachelor's degreeRequired Experience:

4-6 years of experience; direct personnel security processing experience, knowledge of clearance levels and various forms used to process security requestsRequired Clearance:
