Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Finance to lead our financial operations at S&R Truck LLC, a leader in manufacturing, distribution, and service work for transportation equipment. Reporting to the President and serving as an integral member of the senior management team, the Vice President of Finance will be pivotal in overseeing the finance team and collaborating closely with our engineering department to ensure accurate estimating, job costing, and financial planning. S&R Truck is part of the Hastreiter LLC family of companies.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership:
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
Oversee all aspects of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, regulatory reporting, treasury oversight/management, budgeting, forecasting, insurance, and financial reporting.
Accounting Oversight:
Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial statements and reports.
Establish robust internal controls and ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) financial regulations and standards.
Estimating and Job Costing Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering and operations teams to establish and monitor estimating and job costing methodologies.
Analyze cost structures and provide insights to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
Budget Management:
Prepare and manage annual budgets, monitor variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Support departmental leaders in understanding financial implications of their operational decisions.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Generate and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights on trends, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
Identify and analyze financial risks and opportunities, providing actionable insights.
Strategic Planning:
Help direct strategic planning sessions and contribute financial expertise to business decisions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive growth and operational excellence.
Team Development:
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance team.
Recruit, train, mentor, and retain top talent within the finance department.
Other responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA, CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or CPA preferred.
10+ years of financial management experience, with a focus on manufacturing, distribution, or industrial service industries.
Proven track record of overseeing accounting functions and leading finance teams.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
