POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Asset Management plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the strategic management of asset portfolios, focusing on cash management and financial performance optimization. This role entails directing and guiding Asset Managers, conducting in-depth financial analyses, and collaborating on evaluating potential acquisitions and developments to mitigate risks and enhance financial outcomes. The Director also manages relationships with property management and construction teams, ensuring seamless execution of projects while addressing operational challenges effectively. Compliance with regulatory requirements and tax credit agreements is a key responsibility, alongside optimizing property operations for maximum efficiency. Collaborating closely with the EVP of Asset Management, this role contributes to developing and executing portfolio strategies for sustained high performance. Overall, the Director of Asset Management drives excellence in asset management practices to achieve organizational objectives and maximize returns on investment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead and supervise asset portfolios, focusing on sales, marketing, and revenue management strategies. Evaluate their effectiveness and propose corrective actions as needed.
Provide oversight and guidance to Asset Managers, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Conduct comprehensive financial performance analyses to optimize revenue, profit, and returns from company assets.
Collaborate on the assessment of potential acquisitions, investments, and property developments to gauge risk and financial viability.
Manage relationships with property management and construction project managers to plan, budget, and execute projects effectively.
Address operational challenges proactively, seeking innovative solutions to enhance performance.
Ensure compliance with municipal regulations and tax credit agreements across portfolios.
Optimize property operations for efficiency and effectiveness.
Partner with the EVP of Asset Management to develop and execute portfolio strategies for optimal performance.
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field; master's degree preferred.
Minimum 7 years of operations leadership experience, preferably in property management, insurance, or financial services industries.
Must have Multi-Family experience.
Proven track record of building and managing high-performing client services teams.
Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to lead by example and inspire others.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software platforms.
Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous process improvement.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Familiarity with property management industry regulations and best practices is a plus.
