Job SummaryProvides Data Governance program support and serves as a liaison between business units, data scientists, and technical teams, by managing, analyzing, and reporting on data to ensure effective data management and collaboration across the organization.Duties and ResponsibilitiesConducts data analysis and assists business units in identifying data governance needs.Offers support in developing business terms, a business glossary, metadata tags, and managing data catalog and classification functions.Produces various reports for functional areas.Collaborates with staff and business units to identify data challenges and provide support in the development of targeted training programs.Provides role-based access and data security support to ensure data is controlled and accessible to authorized users and departments.Provides first-level support to business units for Data Governance tools and training when needed.Collects data quality use cases and high-level requirements, serving as the liaison between the Data Scientist and technical teams.Assists in the development and implementation of data policies, standards, and regulatory compliance.Supports business units in creating reports on data metrics and identifies opportunities to enhance data processes through the Data Governance program.Contributes to ensuring that the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs of Metro are carried out.May be required to perform other related job dutiesEssential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.Experience
1-3 years of relevant experience supporting business development by identifying challenges and opportunities for improvement within a department.Certifications/Licenses/Special Requirements
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.Special Conditions
