Job Description
This role will be based in San Francisco or Sunnyvale.

This role is part of LinkedIn’s Corporate Development & Strategy team, which partners closely with cross-functional leaders to drive corporate and strategic initiatives, analyze market activity and competitive dynamics, and source, evaluate, execute and integrate M&A and strategic partnership opportunities. This specific role will focus on strategic initiatives and market activity versus any deal-related activity. We seek exceptional candidates who are highly motivated, have a track record of academic and professional success, are driven to succeed and have enthusiasm and passion for LinkedIn’s professional suite of products.
The responsibilities of this Manager include keeping a pulse on public and private markets and synthesizing insights to inform LinkedIn’s strategy and most important business decisions. The right candidate has proven skills in strategic thinking and understanding data, along with the curiosity and critical thinking needed to identify important takeaways that may not be reported in existing news or research. In addition, the Manager will work with key cross-functional partners - leaders from Product, Engineering, Finance and our executive team - and must be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
This role is an excellent opportunity to join a small team that influences long-term company-wide investment initiatives that impact hundreds of millions of professionals worldwide.
Responsibilities
Follow and synthesize macro indicators, research (Wall St, 3rd party, etc.), and industry conversations to keep a pulse on key market trends and sentimentRun point on the quarterly earnings review each quarter, which includes interfacing with Microsoft IR for input into public earnings, as well as crafting the internal narrative of business highlights each quarter for the CFO’s officeDrive exec prep for external meetings with equity research analysts or key internal eventsDevelop a deep understanding of LinkedIn’s market landscape and build relationships with key players in the industry (e.g., VCs, companies, founders, investment banks, etc.)Communicate effectively across all levels (within the team, to cross-functional partners, to leadership / executives)Build effective relationships with colleagues from across the organization
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of post-undergrad work experience that includes experience in one or combination of strategy consulting, equity research, public/private market investing, or related experienceFamiliarity with financial statements, forecasting, and analysisIndependently capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources, and delivering results in challenging situations
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to Consumer Internet and/or Software as a Service (SaaS) sectorsAbility to formulate exec-level insights around complex business problems and create structured quantitative and qualitative analysesExceptional oral and written communication skills & executive presence: able to articulately present and debate recommendations with senior leadershipExperience working with large data sets and using statistical analysesDesire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, and entrepreneurial environmentHigh aptitude to learn quickly, assimilate to new teams and projects, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure with appropriate attention to detailStrong personal initiative, excellent judgment and sense of humor

The pay range for this role is $138,000 to $225,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
