Business Development DirectorLocation: HQ - Fairfax, VAHybrid Remote– 3 days onsite per week
Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is on the lookout for a Business Development Director with practical experience to join our team. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the Business Development Lifecycle, including Opportunity Identification, Capture, and Proposal Development.
In the sales process, the Business Development Director will pinpoint a portfolio of qualified leads for the company to pursue. Business development is responsible for identifying, qualifying, advocating for, and tracking leads, strongly emphasizing gathering intelligence and fostering relationships.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain a comprehensive Business Development Plan and Pipeline.Gain a thorough understanding of company offerings to spot profitable business opportunities.Identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities that align with the company's strategic goals.Use analytics tools to explore viable business development opportunities by leveraging both internal and external data.Evaluate and nurture new and existing industry partnerships.Build and sustain key client relationships.Contribute to company branding efforts.Monitor emerging markets and trends.Research and discover new markets and opportunities.Travel to stakeholder locations to foster relationships.Implement strategies to enhance win probability, including competitive analysis, differentiation, pricing strategies, and maximizing evaluation criteria scoring.Lead a team of Capture and Proposal Staff.Oversee the RFP/RFQ response process.
Required Skills & Experience:Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, operations, or marketing experience in the Federal Government market.Identifying and researching opportunities before being publicly known.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Exceptional leadership and management skills.Effective communication and negotiation skills.Strong understanding of the government proposal process.Strong understanding of government contract financials.Detail-oriented.Create persuasive proposal content.Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
Years of Professional Experience:
5+ Years of experience in government business development/operations.
