Mallory Alexander International Logistics, a global third-party logistics company (3PL) headquartered in Memphis, TN has an immediate opening for a Logistics Professional to join our team!
Position Overview:
The Business Development Director is responsible for revenue and profit growth required to maintain Mallory Alexander International Logistics' goals and initiatives. Identify and establish new business and develop continuing customer relationships by offering customized freight forwarding and supply chain services including import, export, domestic storage and movement of materials and products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop new business in the market and strengthen existing customer relationships. Must have ability to successfully close business transactions and achieve sales goals.
Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, face to face cold calling, networking, etc.
Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge.
Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions Mallory Alexander offers to their business needs.
Conducts Quarterly Business Reviews with the customer and maintain close/ongoing communication with customer and Mallory Alexander's operations to assure expectations are satisfied.
Maintain accurate records via our CRM of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned territory, including the use of all Microsoft Office products to conduct professional business information.
Defines the optimal target accounts, analyzing the sales arena and uses positioning strategies to define and exploit Mallory Alexander's unique value propositions.
Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Marketing or related field preferred.
Must have minimum 5 to 10 years
field sales/business development in international freight forwarding, Air Export and Imports experience.
Experience with logistics processes, systems, and solutions.
Solid PC operational knowledge along with Microsoft Office applications experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to close new business.
Effective presentation and customer relations skills.
Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
Must be self-motivated and possess excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Solid understanding of business acumen.
Valid Driver's License, maintain a clean vehicle and excellent driving record.

This position can be located in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota or Iowa.
