Description Position Overview: Under the direction of the President of SyncLync, the Director of Product provides strategic leadership and oversight of the entire product development cycle, from concept to launch. This role is responsible for driving the product vision, managing a team of product managers, and collaborating closely with engineering, customer service, marketing, and sales teams to deliver innovative products that align with SyncLync’s mission and growth strategy. The Director will also play a key role in defining market opportunities, overseeing the Johnson Health Tech (JHT) New Product Development (NPD) process, and ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership:

Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with company goals and market trends. Lead a team of product managers and collaborate with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to develop and execute product strategies. Guide the product development process, ensuring alignment with the Johnson Health Tech (JHT) New Product Development (NPD) process. Manage the product portfolio, balancing resources, and priorities to ensure the successful launch of high-impact products.

Market Research and Analysis:

Develop a robust network of industry experts, thought leaders and clinics to stay abreast of market trends and customer needs. Oversee market research efforts to identify new opportunities and understand competitive landscapes, providing regular insights and updates to executive leadership. Analyze product performance, competitive positioning, and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions.

Product Innovation and Development:

Champion innovation by identifying and evaluating new product ideas, technologies, and trends that could lead to breakthrough products. Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to define product specifications, requirements, and development milestones. Ensure that all new product proposals and product briefs are thoroughly developed, validated, and aligned with strategic goals. Oversee the product development process from ideation to commercialization, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work with marketing to develop compelling product stories, positioning, and go-to-market strategies that resonate with target audiences. Partner with supply chain and manufacturing teams to optimize production processes and ensure a seamless product launch. Collaborate closely with the customer service team to ensure they are well-equipped with product knowledge and can effectively address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback. Establish a feedback loop between product development and customer service teams to continuously gather insights from customers.

Leadership and Team Development:

Build and mentor a high-performing product development team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Establish clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:

Establish and maintain rigorous standards for product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing product feedback, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing solutions. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field required. Master’s degree in business administration or a related field preferred.

Experience:

10+ years of experience in product management, product development, or a related role in the hearing aid industry or a similar consumer products sector. Proven track record of successfully launching and managing products from concept to commercialization. 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing cross-functional teams and directing strategic initiatives.

Other Requirements:

Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management tools like Microsoft Project. Demonstrated experience with international markets, including familiarity with global regulations and market dynamics. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
