Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance data warehousing solutions that meet the Federal Agency’s data management and reporting needs.Collaborate with enterprise architects and data teams to develop and implement data integration strategies that align with the agency’s enterprise architecture and operational goals.Manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, ensuring data is collected, transformed, and loaded efficiently into the data warehouse from various internal and external sources.Ensure data warehouses are compliant with federal IT standards such as NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and FedRAMP, and implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data.Optimize data warehouse performance through indexing, partitioning, and tuning strategies, while ensuring data availability and accessibility for analytics and reporting.Collaborate with data analysts and business intelligence teams to ensure data models support reporting and analytics platforms such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, or Power BI.Support the migration of legacy data warehouse solutions to modern cloud-based platforms, including AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, or other cloud-native solutions.Develop and maintain documentation related to data warehouse architecture, ETL processes, and data governance policies.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams, ensuring best practices in data warehousing and data integration.Monitor and troubleshoot data warehouse performance issues, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery plans are in place.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or 10+ years of relevant experience).8+ years of experience in data warehousing, including experience designing, developing, and managing large-scale data warehouse environments.Expertise in ETL tools and processes, with experience in platforms such as Informatica, Talend, or Microsoft SSIS.Experience working with cloud-based data warehousing solutions, such as AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery.Strong understanding of federal data security and compliance requirements, including NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and FedRAMP.Proficiency in database systems, including SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, and experience with data modeling and schema design.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance and security.Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide guidance on best practices.Preferred Qualifications:Certifications in data warehousing or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).Experience working in federal agencies or government contracting environments.Familiarity with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, or Power BI.A1FED is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from diverse backgrounds.
