The Department of Kinesiology has 29 full-time faculty members and offers B.S., M.S., M.S.A.T., and Ph.D. programs in the academic areas of athletic training, sport management, exercise science, and health and physical education.Position DetailsClassification Title: Assistant ProfessorFLSA: Faculty Rank: Assistant ProfessorContract Type: Academic (9 mo.)Tenure Status: Tenure TrackMinimum Qualifications:An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in sport management or a related field by the start date.Position Summary:The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank in the area of sport management to begin August 1, 2025. The Department seeks to hire a motivated faculty member with research and teaching interests broadly positioned in the business of sport.Responsibilities:Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.Establish a high-quality, focused line of research that includes collaboration with undergraduate and graduate students.Seek external funding for research projects and/or educational programs.Advise graduate students and direct thesis and dissertation research.Participate in the development of the sport management program.Serve the institution and profession.Additional Requirements:Evidence of high-quality research and teaching.Demonstrated ability to secure external funding or evidence of potential to do so.EEO Statement
