Principal FunctionDirectly coordinates the ministry to Preschool, Children, and Preteens and their families at Calvary’s Lumberton Campus.Role ResponsibilitiesPlan, implement, communicate, and oversee the ministry to preschool, children, and preteens, and their families to align with the mission and vision of Calvary Baptist Church as set by the Lead Pastor.Recruit, train, and support the preschool, children, and preteen ministry directors and volunteers.Provide care to the families in our preschool, children, and preteen ministries, including biblical counsel, prayer, and visitation (home, church, or hospital).Lead volunteers to conduct a vibrant ministry to all assigned ministry areas, including Sunday services, Wednesday evening programming, VBS, Summer Camp, and periodic special events.Arrange biblical parenting seminars to train, teach, encourage, and equip parents to effectively lead their families following biblical principles.Select and/or develop curriculum needed for all assigned ministry programs that aligns with the church’s beliefs and accomplishes the church’s education and discipleship program.Serve as leadership at church-wide events and/or part of a rotation schedule. (e.g., hospital visitation, evangelistic events, outreach, new member visitation, missions, VBS, etc.)Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of the preschool/children/preteen ministries’ facilities and grounds.Reports to the Lumberton Campus Pastor while also receiving oversight from Calvary’s Lead Pastor.Collaborate with counterpart staff positions on other campuses, as well as the Student Pastor on the Lumberton Campus.Set a godly example to our membership and the community in terms of personal discipleship and relationship with Jesus.Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, and prayer.Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.Assist in the development of an annual budget for areas of responsibility and manage spending to budget.Adhere to the Bylaws and Policies and Procedures of Calvary Baptist Church.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Theological ConvictionsConfess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, having publicly professed Him through baptism by immersion.Wholehearted support for the doctrinal positions of Calvary Baptist Church.Promote the mission, values, and statement of beliefs adopted by Calvary Baptist Church.Required QualificationsA call of God to vocational Christian ministry.Possess a competency and passion for teaching children about God and the gospel message.Specific skills required for a ministerial position, including but not limited to administration, excellent people skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, attention to detail, sense of urgency, teaching ability, goal setting, and fulfillment.Able to work independently as well as with a team of staff, volunteers, and church members to advance the work of Christ to the glory of God.A coachable and teachable spirit and attitude.Preferred QualificationsDegree in Christian Education, Biblical Studies, Education, or a similar field.5 or more years of experience as a staff member in a children’s ministry leadership capacity.
