Founded in 2000, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy students represent the neighborhood of MacArthur Park west of downtown Los Angeles, a community that is one of the most under-resourced and densely populated neighborhoods in Los Angeles. has the opportunity to use innovative academic and enrichment curricula to establish a culture of educational excellence through a holistic approach to academic enrichment. Instructor must be a visionary, eager to be in the forefront of educational and enrichment practices, and must embrace the challenge of demonstrating that public education in a low-income, primarily immigrant, multilingual area can succeed.ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsPrepare and implement lesson plans that lead to active student engagement in lessons after school in area of responsibility, which may include but is not limited to one or more of the following:ReadingMathEnglish Language DevelopmentGardeningLibrary ProgrammingOutdoor EducationSTEMDanceArtEthnic StudiesAdapt programming for the purpose of providing students with program materials that address individualized needsFacilitate targeted small group instruction providing students with materials that meet their individualized needs when appropriateAssess students and collect data to ensure program efficacy and student needs are metParticipate regularly in professional development opportunitiesCommunicate frequently with students, students’ families, colleagues and other stakeholdersMaintain regular, punctual attendanceOther duties as assignedLocation:
