Course credit varies from one to five credits. A reasonable estimate for an appointment to teach a standard five-credit course is $8,282 - $14,100 (based on salary points 1-19). Please see the UCSC Salary Scales and refer to the
Non-senate Instructional (NSI) Unit 18 Pre-six Lecturer Academic Year
scale. Instructional Workload Credit (IWC) valuation may vary and the course salary will be adjusted accordingly. Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.Percent time:
Variable, based on the course load assigned.Anticipated start:
Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding.
This recruitment is valid for initial appointments beginning in spring quarter 2024 through spring quarter 2025.
Initial appointments made after this period must be made through other recruitments.Position duration:
Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.Application Window

Stevenson College at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach Stevenson's non-core/enhancement courses (which does not include the
Stevenson College 1
core course). Stevenson's enhancement courses explore the concept of
Self and Society
and emphasize the goals of both self-understanding and active participation in one's community. Some of the enhancement courses that are more frequently offered are
Stevenson 26- Navigating the Research University ,
Stevenson 10- Skills for College and Beyond ,
Stevenson 50A- Stevenson Alumni Careers in Law , and
Stevenson 50B- Stevenson Alumni Careers in Science and Technology . A complete list of Stevenson's courses can be found in the UCSC Course Catalog. Applicants with a demonstrated record of successful teaching and experience supporting students with diverse backgrounds, interests, and skills in a research university setting are strongly encouraged to apply. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and other assigned duties.

Basic qualifications
