Principal Substation Engineer/ Substation Project Engineer (remote with some travel)
Temp Project 12464 Estimated Duration :12 months with possible extensions Work Setting: Remote, some travel required within North America Required: • Experience in substation design and engineering High Voltage substation/switchyard projects. (7+ years); • Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action; • Experience with industry codes and standards including IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and compliance with ISO and Transmission Owner requirements; • Experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including external engineers, vendors, and project teams to ensure successful project execution; • Expertise in developing scopes of work, securing bids, and managing contracts for engineering and construction services; • Experience with technical compliance for all engineering deliverables and construction milestones; • Valid driver`s license; • Willingness to travel within North America as needed for project oversight. Preferred: PMP and/or P.E in related discipline Responsibilities : • Manage substation projects from early-stage development through construction and commissioning; • Provide technical oversight to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications; • Secure and manage engineering resources, contracts, and consulting services; • Coordinate with stakeholders and transmission owners to secure sites, permits, and required updates; • Oversee material orders and budget management to minimize delays and cost overruns; • Collaborate with project teams to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant project execution; • Support project commissioning and regulatory compliance, including legal filings if needed.
