AtkinsRéalis has the depth and breadth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects and the urgent transition to a low-carbon economy.How will you contribute to the team?Experience working on conceptual, schematic, and full estimatesReview cost estimates for compliance with design documentsReview estimates for scope of work and constructability issues to ensure estimated project and change costs are in line with market costsPerform as the subject matter expert for a wide range of cost estimating functions, including verification of independent cost estimates, cost impact analysis, cost analysis, statistical business case analysis, and cost forecasting functions in support of the capital improvement programs for airport, commercial real estate, and campus facility programs.Ten years of progressively responsible experience in analyzing and estimating costs of design and construction projects. Requires knowledge of local construction market in the area of operation including pricing conventions and trends. Requires ability to prepare conceptual cost model estimates from limited information using local historic cost information.Knowledge of and ability to apply project controls (e.g., scheduling, costing, estimating, and reporting) in engineering and construction work. Requires knowledge of the local construction market of the Washington DC Metropolitan Area including pricing conventions and trends. Requires ability to prepare conceptual cost model estimates from limited information using local historic cost information.Knowledge of engineering/architecture design industry, with emphasis on mechanical, electrical, plumbing specialties, construction management, and ability to apply it to analyze cost and schedule impacts on detailed project cost estimates and analyses. Reviews and finalizes estimate unit cost pricing to reflect current market conditions and specific project logistics.Knowledge of A/E project management practices and standards, industry forecasts, and economic indicators and ability to apply it to ensure that project costs are quantified and priced in accordance with current and forecasted market conditions.Ability to make detailed analyses of data and information and make recommendations. Prepares cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explain variance cost drivers. Obtains accurate and up-to-date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates.Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written work to all levels of management.What will you contribute?Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil/structural engineering, or related fieldEquivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredA professional designation such as RICS, CCE, CCM, AIA, PE, ASPE, AACEI, CVS, AVS, LEED AP, RA, or any appraisal or real estate licensure is preferredComputer skills required, including MS Office, project management, and estimating softwareWhat we offer at AtkinsRéalis:AtkinsRéalis realizes that health, mental, and financial wellbeing are all equally needed to achieve balance in life.
