You Are:
Responsible for the design, development and implementation of advanced technology systems and data standards to meet the needs of business. Partners with customers to understand business requirements to create the technical functional specifications. Acts as an internal data consultant to advise and influence business and technical partners. This role is specifically located within the Systems Analyst Group under the Federal Employee Program (FEP). The FEP IMS SA group helps maintain the infrastructure and data for a large clinical data ecosystem. We work closely with business data SMEs and technical implementation teams to build data pipelines and reporting applications. Our goal is to serve as a trusted advisor to the business and as a technical advisor to the technical teams.
The Opportunity:
Validate and ensure business requirements are thorough, detailed, and concise. Ensure exceptions to the above are documented and approved by management.
Responsible for all SA artifacts, per EPMO guidelines are developed, reviewed and signed off. Responsible for tagging System Use Cases.
Ensure exceptions to the above are documented and approved by management. Provide support to business and serve as the SME for applications.
Provide forecasts and detailed estimates for SA activities and artifacts. Responsible for providing weekly status, on time, to all stakeholders.
Responsible for researching customer issues and escalating risks/issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
Test and investigate issues to determine the appropriate resolution.
Complete assigned responsibilities and prepare for team meetings.
Attend team meetings on time and ensure effective usage of time.
Complete timesheets accurately and ensure time is reported regularly with the proper allocation of time spent on projects. Participates in department standards/templates and skill development.
Act professionally and foster positive relationships with other groups. Responsible for identifying/vocalizing areas for improvements, implementing process improvements and ensuring long term compliance.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of structured design methodologies and processes for the department.
This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.
What you need:
High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience in similar work environment.
Minimum 5 years of IT work experience focused in systems development and programming.
Experience designing and building data warehouses, data pipelines, reporting environments, data modeling including use of data modeling tools.
Experience in creating SA technical artifacts such as Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Source to Targets (S2Ts), Data Exchange Documents (DEDs), and Data Models.
Experience with one or more of the following: DB2, SQL, AbInitio, ETL, Cognos, Tableau, JIRA, XML, Erwin, Advantage Suite, FHIR.
Experience as a team member on project teams in a cross functional environment.
Data analysis, data profiling and data manipulation skills.
Strong analytical skills essential.
Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills to cultivate positive working relationships.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Remote
Compensation Range:
$84,000-$126,000
Benefits:
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits.
