Position Title:
DIRECTOR OF DINING SERVICES IV - K12 FOOD SERVICE OPERATIONS - BATON ROUGE, LAChartwells K12's goal is to make sure students leave the cafeteria happier and healthier than they came in, by serving food kids love to eat and creating custom dining programs. With more than 16,000 associates in 4,500 schools, ranging from large public institutions to small charter and private schools, Chartwells K12 is built on decades of food, education and operational experience driven by top culinary, nutrition, wellness, and sustainability talent.Job SummaryThis key leadership position is directly responsible for the successful operation of Food & Nutrition Services. The Director of Food and Nutritional Services is responsible for all food service-related activities for a K-12 public school district, including enhancing the service available in the campus cafeterias, retail options, caterings, quality improvement, sanitation, etc.Key Responsibilities:Ensure client and customer satisfaction and efficient cost-effective management for the client's food service operations.Promote the professional growth and development of the team.Assist in fostering strong inter-departmental relations and integrate the food-service department with the facility plan of operations.Qualifications:B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus three (3) years of directly related experience.Three (3) to five (5) years of direct food service operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control.Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable.Strong supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills.Strong communication skills both written and verbal.Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels.Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills.Proficient computer skills including various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet.Certified Dietary Manager certificate or Registered Dietitian preferred.Apply to Chartwells Schools today!Chartwells Schools is a member of Compass Group USA.
