Job Title: Director of AdvancementReports To: School PresidentFull Time – 12 MonthsPosition Summary:The Director of Advancement is responsible for leading and managing the school’s fundraising efforts, with a particular focus on an upcoming capital campaign to develop a new sports field. This role involves strategic planning, donor cultivation, and community engagement to ensure the financial sustainability and growth of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

Capital Campaign Leadership:

Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the capital campaign focused on the sports field.

Set campaign goals, timelines, and milestones, ensuring alignment with the school’s mission and vision.

Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to communicate project progress to donors.

Fundraising and Donor Relations:

Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing donors through regular communication and personalized stewardship.

Organize and oversee fundraising events, including galas, auctions, and donor appreciation events.

Community Engagement:

Engage with the school community, including alumni, parents, and local businesses, to build support for the capital campaign.

Develop marketing and communication materials to promote the campaign and highlight its impact on the school and community.

Serve as a spokesperson for the campaign, presenting to various groups and stakeholders.

Strategic Planning and Management:

Collaborate with the school leadership team to integrate advancement goals with the overall strategic plan.

Manage the advancement office, including staff and volunteers, to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Prepare and monitor the advancement budget, ensuring responsible financial management.

Grant Writing and Reporting:

Research and write grant proposals to secure additional funding for the sports field and other school initiatives.

Provide regular reports to the school leadership and board on campaign progress and financial status.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.

Proven track record of successful capital campaigns and major gift solicitations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse community.

Knowledge of Catholic education and commitment to the school’s mission and values.

Proficiency in fundraising software and database management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Practicing Catholic with a deep understanding of the Catholic faith and its teachings.

Experience in a school or educational setting.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and meetings.
