Intellectual Property Paralegal - Patent & Trademark

UB Greensfelder has an opening for a full-time Paralegal in the Intellectual Property Practice Group working on both Patent and Trademark matters in our Chicago or Cleveland office. This role is eligible for some hybrid work after the initial onboarding period.

Responsibilities Include :
Assist attorneys in a variety of intellectual property matters, including matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, domain names, and IP licenses.
Management and execution of patent annuity and maintenance fee payments.
Oversight of the IP docketing staff including quality control, creating docket entries and monitoring attorney docket for deadlines, reviewing and generating special docket reports.
Preparation and filing of trademark, copyright and patent applications and related documents with the USPTO and Copyright Offices.
Preparation of routine legal correspondence, assisting with patent, trademark and due diligence searches.
Frequent client contact, both written and verbal.
Ability to accurately create time entry narratives to describe the work performed as this position includes a billable hour requirement.
Qualified Applicants Will Have :
IP Docket experience, and Patent and Trademark search experience. Knowledge of CorSearch and Total Patent is preferred.
5+ years’ patent/trademark prosecution experience, knowledge of Pattsy database or comparable docketing database is preferred.
Patent/Trademark domestic and foreign prosecution experience in the capacity of a Paralegal. Copyright experience is a plus.
Official U.S. Patent and Trademark Office database experience.
Strong computing skills with the ability to quickly become proficient with new software tools is desired.
Strong Microsoft Office skills are required. Experience with ADOBE Acrobat and VISIO is desired.
Familiarity with handling and processing trademark specimens, patent drawings and trademark/tradedress graphics.
