DescriptionSAIC is seeking an experienced, results-oriented, mission-driven

DevOps Engineer

in support of a USG big data program that Extracts, Transforms, and Loads (ETL) incoming datasets for use by numerous down-stream systems and analysts. The qualified candidate will be part of an Agile team of multi-disciplinary engineers who support an effort to increase the speed of data delivery for structured and unstructured data through Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Automation efforts for a complex Data Management Platform.RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform assessments of code base and identify required changesPerform Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Automation for a complex Data Management PlatformSupport execution of the ETL process on periodic and one-time data sets to include conditioning and write out of the modified data setsPerform O&M of currently executing code baseCorrect flaws/bugs preventing successful completion of data set processingCollaborate with Mission Engineering team in fixing bugs and in delivering new capabilitiesQualificationsREQUIRED:Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearanceBachelor’s Degree in data science, computer science, information engineering, or a related subject - OR - four (4) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree3+ years’ experience maintaining and enhancing Infrastructure as Code (IaaS) with technologies including, but not limited to, CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet, and AWS CodeDeploy3+ years’ experience in Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, and other scripting languages3+ years’ experience using knowledge management and code repositories including but not limited to GitHub, GitLab, Jira, and ConfluenceExperience writing or refactoring software code to facilitate deploying applications to standalone compute resourcesExperience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)Experience with Apache NiFiExperience programming in Apache Spark and PySparkFamiliarity with ingesting data into SQL and NoSQL database systems
