Firebird AST is seeking an onsite TS/SCI cleared Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Subject Matter Expert to support a U.S. Government client. This is for a pending contract. Contract start is anticipated early 2025.RESPONSIBILITIESEmploy M&S tools across the entire space of DOTmLPF-P to support industry-standard and trade space studies evaluating warfighter capabilities, differing solution designs, program recommendations, and overall capability performance.Develop alternative solutions and evaluations to inform decision makers and senior leaders on where to make force changes and apply limited resources to fill known capability gaps. Provide support to a wide variety of experiment campaigns in support of this effort.Evaluate DOTmLPF-P to develop alternative solutions that may inform senior leaders on force changes, resourcing, and capability gaps.Perform design, development, evaluation, and analysis in such areas as distributed simulation, object-oriented simulation, model validation and verification, and simulation and model development.Implement and integrate appropriate M&S tool sets to support trade space studies evaluating warfighter capabilities, differing solution designs, program recommendations, and overall capability performance.Participate in experimentation-related forums, working groups, and external assemblies (i.e. Conferences, technology shows, etc.).Examine information to figure out what is relevant to a problem and what methods might be used to analyze it, and provide recommendations to address the problem.Travel up to 25% of the time on a monthly basis.Prepare reports, information papers, and presentations as required utilizing Microsoft Office family of products (e.g., Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Access).Develop and maintain an electronic resource, to include key points of contact, to be used for mission continuity that may be accessed by all stakeholders.REQUIRED5 years’ experience designing, implementing, and integrating modeling and simulation tool sets in such areas as distributed simulation, object-oriented simulation, model validation and verification, and simulation and model development.5 years’ experience utilizing C++ or similar programming language and software engineering employing tools and libraries for various operating systems.3 years of experience developing and presenting verbal and written products at military O-5/civilian equivalent level.5 years’ experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g., SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, etc.).OPTIONALThis position may also serve as the Task Lead:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution – OR – 10 years of experience conducting Strategic Communication, Project Management, Marketing, and/or Business and Operations Management.Minimum of 3 years of experience in USSOCOM assigned organizations, as military, Government civilian or contractor.Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and presenting verbal and written products at the general/flag-level command staff.Minimum of 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g., SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, etc.).Prior military experience as a senior (field grade) officer/NCO.EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or modeling and simulation.CLEARANCEActive DoD Top Secret/SCI.
