Senior Property Accountant

A prominent and award-winning Real Estate Firm in Northern New Jersey is looking to add a Senior Property Accountant to their team. This is a highly stable and well-established company experiencing steady growth who is now looking to expand their accounting department. You’ll work as part of an extremely collaborate team of professionals applying principles of accounting and finance to analyze financial information to compile accurate financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze general ledgers for a portfolio of commercial properties.
Develop budgets and reforecasts in collaboration with executive and property management.
Prepare and distribute monthly financial packages internally and externally to management, stakeholders, and government agencies.
Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual variance reports.
Prepare CAM and tax reconciliations.
Review commercial leases to ensure accurate billing.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Train and oversee junior accountants.
Establish and maintain excellent tenant relations.
Desired Experience:
Demonstrated 3 years of experience in commercial property accounting.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
Maintain thorough knowledge of lease provisions, must be comfortable reading and deciphering legal documents.
Experience calculating CAM and utility reconciliations.
Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, Sage, desirable.
Familiarity with construction accounting and AIA billing desirable but not necessary.
Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Salary and Benefits:
