Staff Accountant (Property Management)

to join a leading commercial property management team in Dallas, Texas! This hybrid role offers the opportunity for remote work once onboarded and provides flexible work hours, excellent benefits, and a dynamic work environment!

This full-time role is designed for a detail-oriented accountant with a strong background in commercial property management and reports directly to the Supervisor and Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in commercial property accounting, property budgets, and CAM reconciliations.

Responsibilities

Maintain accrual-based property general ledgers, balance sheets, and income statements.Prepare and record necessary journal entries and analyze property management billing transactions.Use MRI software to manage rental charges, late fees, CPI billing adjustments, tenant ledgers, and delinquency reporting.Conduct variance analysis for monthly income statements and reconcile balance sheet accounts.Oversee construction design fees and produce monthly financial reports.Prepare monthly recovery accrual entries and manage annual OPEX recovery reconciliations.Verify cash receipts and ensure compliance with client guidelines.Collaborate with the property management team to develop annual budgets and provide support for tenant balances and lease data.Review accounts payable invoices using the AVID electronic system and ensure proper documentation.Process lease agreements, amendments, write-off requests, and assist with tenant and operational audits.Participate in special projects and back up other accounting team members as needed.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in commercial property accountingProficiency with Yardi and/or MRI softwareBachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred)Ability to read and interpret lease agreementsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a teamDetail-oriented with effective time management and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Adobe PDFStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilitiesAbility to maintain professionalism and confidentiality

Compensation & Additional DetailsThis hybrid remote full-time position offers a starting annual salary of $75k-100k, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes: a performance bonus, paid time off, and the option to work from home after completing onboarding and demonstrating proficiency in the role.
