Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to lead our financial operations and strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, corporate accounting, and the ability to interpret complex financial reports. This role requires a strategic thinker who can oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Duties
Directs all operations of the Financial Department. Establishes priorities in organizing departmental work, and through the Deputy Finance Director and Treasurer, directly supervises the functional areas of accounting, cash management, investment, payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing.
Provides fiscal management of all Town funds. Coordinates the revenues and expenditures of all Town funds, and provides expenditure and revenue forecast and the multi-year debt services schedule. Also provides budgetary control information to departments and public officials.
Drafts and recommends policy to the Town Manager and plans for the implementation of financial goals and objectives. Recommends changes in the departments’ procedure to affect improvements in services and attain operational efficiencies.
Coordinates the development and administration of the Town Budget and the Capital Improvement Plan.
Coordinates the annual audit and the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACF).
Reviews all Town-wide departmental financial and accounting systems to assure compliance with the Town’s established accounting policy and procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration from an accredited college or university.
Master’s Degree, CPA or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) preferred.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in municipal accounting, including 5 years supervisory experience or equivalent experience.

Pay : $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
